    Minidiscs can occasionally fail due to loss of UTOC data. The player then loses all knowledge of the location of the audio even though it is still present on the disc. The Minidisc Recovery Tools provide a means to rebuild the UTOC from a partially available, or non-existent UTOC.

    Even severely fragmented discs can be repaired and have audio retrieved as originally recorded.
